The Library Friends meet on the 4th Tuesday of every month (except July and December,) at 7:00 pm.  We meet in the Board Room of the Library. . All members are welcome.  Click on the link above to join Library Friends.

Unemployment Resources
Waukesha County Federated Library System has a new, refined website that will make it easier for people in Waukesha County who are facing employment challenges find the resources they need.

Eleanor, First Lady of the World”, a program featuring Jessica Michna as Eleanor Roosevelt, to be held on  September 25 at 2:30 PM. The one-hour program,  will be free to the public.  Mrs. Michna is the founder of “First Impressions”, the umbrella under which she presents her character studies of several famous women.   Her latest character is a fictitious Appalachian story teller. Originally from Pennsylvania, Michna now makes her home in Racine.  For information, call 262-532-8912.

2:15 PM, Tues., Sept. 21 and 6:30 Thurs., Sept. 23: CRAZY HEART  (2009) Starring Jeff Bridges, Maggie Gyllenhaal.  Bridges won an Oscar for his lead role as a hard-living, hard-drinking mostly washed up country singer who meets a newspaper journalist who wants to interview him. A relationship begins, but can it change the path the singer has been following? Music written by T-Bone Burnett, performed by Bridges, won Best Music Original Song Oscar.   Rated R  (no one under 17 will be admitted), 112 minutes.

READ TO ROVER AT THE LIBRARY
Kids able to read on their own can sign up for a to read to a dog who is specially trained for community visits. On Sept. 11, Oct. 9, Nov. 13, and Dec. 11.  Pick a time between 9:30 and 11:00 for a 10-minute time slot to read to one of 2 dogs.  Sign up by calling the Youth Library at 532-8915 for the Sept. date,  with online sign-up beginning on our web site at www.home.mf.lib.wi.us on Sept. 20 for later dates.  Call 532-8915 for more information.

CHESS!
Ben Corcoran of the Waukesha Chess Club will be here this
  summer to show you how to improve your game. All ages are
  invited to attend any or all of the sessions listed below.
  Children under 9 years old should have a responsible adult present. Meetings will take place in our Youth Program Room.
  Dates and times are as follows:
           Saturday, September 18: 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. 
           Saturday, September 25: 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. 

  Each session will start with a lecture, and then will continue
